Had a connector pin back out mid-flight last Tuesday

I was troubleshooting a glideslope fault in a 737 at KORD when I pulled the rack and found a pin that had backed out maybe 1/8 inch. Re-crimped it with a new M22520 tool and the fault cleared right up. Anyone else had one of those moments where you knew the schematic was lying to you?

Funny you mention that, I was just reading a thread on another forum where a guy had the exact same thing happen on an Airbus A320. He spent two days chasing a flap problem before finding a pin that had walked out about half an inch. Made me think how easy it is to blame the wiring diagram when the real issue is just a bad crimp or a pin that wasn't fully seated. Glad you got it sorted so quick with the new tool though.

You ever spend hours tearing your hair out over something that turns out to be that simple? It's rough. I remember fighting with a Cessna 172 once where the trim was binding for three days before I found a single screw that was a quarter turn too tight. That kind of stuff makes you feel like an idiot, but it happens to everyone. At least you caught it before it became a whole inspection and rework nightmare.
