Rant: spent 9 hours on a flap disagree light because I trusted the built in test
Had a CRJ 200 throw a flap disagree light on the ground in El Paso, and the built in test said the flap control unit was fine. So I went down the wiring rabbit hole, checked every connector between the FCC and the flap motor over two shifts, and even swapped the motor just to rule it out. Turned out the FCC flag only shows in a specific test mode nobody uses, and a $400 transducer was lying to the whole system the whole time. Now I'm stuck wondering if those on board tests build false trust or if I just got lazy reading the manual. Do you guys trust the BITE box or pull out the multimeter first?
