Took me 3 years to realize I was crimping Cannon plugs wrong

I was over at the hangar in Memphis last Thursday and my coworker watches me crimp a size 16 pin and just goes 'you know you're supposed to use the red hole for that, right?' I'd been using the blue hole on my M22520/1-01 the whole time. Three years of crap connections and I never figured it out. Anyone else have a basic tool epiphany that made you feel like an idiot?

You ever spend a week using a torque wrench backwards before someone pointed it out?

Man, that hits close to home... I spent a whole weekend trying to tighten down bolts on a trailer hitch setup, and I couldn't figure out why every bolt just felt wrong. Turned out I had the thing set to loosen instead of tighten, so I was basically just cranking it the wrong way the whole time. Felt like a real dummy when my buddy came over and just flipped the switch...
