Why does nobody talk about how easy it is to mess up pin crimps on D-sub connectors?

Spent 6 months chasing an intermittent fault on a King Radio KX 155 before a senior tech noticed my crimps weren't fully seated. Has anyone else had that sinking feeling when you realize your basic technique was off the whole time?

I dunno, I feel like those mistakes are part of the learning curve rather than something nobody talks about. Most of us have messed up a crimp or two before getting it right.

Actually I was just reading a climbing blog the other day where some guy broke down how even pros mess up simple stuff like footwork or clipping when they're tired. It made me realize those little mistakes aren't just beginner things, they're part of getting better no matter your level. The blogger said he's been climbing for over a decade and still pops off a jug sometimes when he's not paying attention. That kind of stuff stuck with me because it shows nobody's perfect, we all just learn to manage it better over time. So yeah, I'm with you on this, those errors are just part of the journey and not some hidden secret.
