Appreciation post: the one CTO who called my SaaS mockup 'cute' at a pitch event in Denver

Back in 2019 at a B2B meetup in Denver, a CTO from a logistics startup told me my MVP was 'cute but not real' after I demoed it for two minutes. He then spent 15 minutes showing me why my data pipeline was broken and how to fix it. Has anyone else had a critic who actually helped more than the cheerleaders?
