Hot take: Your MVP is too polished and that's killing your sales
Three years ago I launched a B2B tool for logistics folks and spent 6 weeks polishing the dashboard with custom charts, fancy animations, the whole deal. Last week I finally had a prospect in Atlanta tell me straight up, "We bought your competitor because their ugly beta felt like they were still iterating with us." That hit hard because they were right, my 'complete' product made me look like I was done listening. Founders pour time into look when the real ask is speed and rawness. A messy MVP gets you feedback loops, a clean one gets you silence and churn. I stripped 40% of the features out and put in a changelog so clients see fixes weekly. Has anyone else noticed that buyers in this space actually distrust a slick launch these days?
