Lost a $50k deal because I wore crocs to a pitch in Austin
The CEO literally stopped mid handshake and stared at my feet. Has anyone else had a client judge you for something ridiculous like this?

Wait, your CEO actually stopped mid handshake? That's brutal. A buddy of mine showed up to a client meeting in San Diego wearing a Hawaiian shirt because he thought it was "California casual." The client was a retired military guy in a full suit. He didn't say anything but my friend said the dude's handshake went cold and the whole vibe shifted. They still got the deal but it took like 3 extra follow ups.
