Overheard a SaaS founder say 'we don't need salespeople' and I wanted to scream
Was at a meetup in Charlotte last Thursday and this guy with a $50k ARR product said he was too good for cold outreach. I've seen at least a dozen B2B startups fail because founders think good software sells itself. Has anyone else watched a promising tool die from a founder's ego about sales?

Hire a salesperson before you build another feature.

Man, I used to totally buy into that whole "product-led growth" hype myself. I thought if you just made something good enough, people would find it and pay you. Then I watched a buddy sink two years into a project management tool that was genuinely better than Asana, but he refused to hire anyone to actually talk to customers. The thing just sat there with like 20 users while he kept tweaking the UI. That experience really opened my eyes to how blind founders can be about the sales piece. Building something great is only half the battle, and pretending otherwise is just ego dressed up as strategy.
