Picked a niche down to dental software last quarter and it finally clicked
I spent two years trying to sell a general project management tool to anyone who would listen. Got nowhere fast. Then I narrowed it down to just dental labs that make crowns and bridges. First real client signed in three weeks and paid $400 a month. Now I have five clients all in that same space. Has anyone else had luck going super specific like that?

A friend of mine did almost the exact same thing with vet clinics, and @spencer_moore39 it worked great for him too.

@spencer_moore39 that's a fair point but it's working for me right now and that feels good.

nah but that's just a gamble that happened to pay off for you lol. what happens when the dental lab market dries up or one of your clients gets bought out and switches vendors? you're basically putting all your eggs in one basket that could break at any moment. i went super broad with my software and while the sales cycle is longer, i'm not terrified every time a specific industry sneezes. you also capped your potential hard. there's way more money selling something to everyone than to just a tiny slice of people who make teeth.
