Warning: I almost lost a big client because I skipped a basic step in our onboarding.
Had a new client from Denver ready to sign. Sent the contract, got the payment. Standard stuff. But I didn't schedule a 15 minute kickoff call, just emailed their team login info. They went silent for a week. Finally called them. Their main guy had no idea where to start. Cost me a ton of goodwill. Now I force that short call before anything else. Anyone else find a tiny step that saves big headaches later?

Honestly, even a quick Loom video walkthrough saves so much confusion.

Man that hits home. I once sent a client a whole project folder without a single note on where to look first. Total radio silence for days. My tiny fix was making a stupid simple "start here" text file that just says "open this first" and lists the three main things. It sounds so dumb but it completely stopped the confusion. People just need that one clear path laid out for them.
