Watched a guy at a WeWork in Austin close a $40k deal with a notepad and zero slides
I've been building a 12 slide pitch for two weeks and this guy just asked the right questions for 40 minutes, so now I'm wondering if any of you have actually closed bigger deals by ditching the deck entirely?
Back in 2019 I closed a $75k software deal at a Starbucks in Denver with nothing but a legal pad and a pen. The buyer told me later that the deck I sent before the meeting almost killed the deal because it felt like I was reading from a script instead of listening to him. So now I bring one page of questions and let them do most of the talking.
