Can we talk about loop trails versus out-and-back routes?

I liked loop trails so I didn't have to go back the same way. But last time, an out-and-back route helped when the weather got rough. Is one kind better for new hikers?

totally get that! yeah loops are way more fun but your weather point is key. if a storm rolls in on a loop you're stuck finishing the whole thing, but out-and-back means you can just turn around and bail. for beginners that safety net is huge, lets them build confidence without getting in over their head.
