Convinced the Pacific Crest Trail is overrated compared to the Colorado Trail

I did a section of the PCT in Washington last summer and another on the CT around Leadville, and honestly the CT was way more my speed. The scenery felt more varied and the crowds were like 1/10 of what I dealt with on the PCT. Am I missing something or do other people find the CT a better overall experience too?

Yeah I totally get what you're saying. I did the CT from Denver to Durango a couple summers ago and it was honestly way more chill than I expected. The PCT gets all the hype but the CT just feels more real if that makes sense. The wildflowers around San Juan Mountains blew my mind and I barely saw anyone for days at a time. On the PCT I felt like I was排队 for views sometimes. Have you tried any of the other long trails out west yet like the Arizona Trail or the Hayduke?

The whole "feels more real" thing always cracks me up. It's just a hike, not a spiritual awakening. But yeah, less people does sound better than fighting for trail space.
