Finally finished the JMT section I bailed on two years ago due to altitude sickness
Took my time on the climb from Reds Meadow to Muir Pass this August, pacing at 1.5 miles per hour instead of pushing harder, and made it the whole way without any headaches.

Started noticing this same thing with how I deal with stress at work. Slowing way down and taking more breaks has completely changed my attitude about stuff I used to dread.

Went through a similar thing on the PCT actually. Got wrecked by altitude near Sonora Pass my first try, came back the next year with a slower pace and way more water stops. Felt like a whole different trail.
