Had to pick between the high route and the valley floor on a trip in the Wind River Range
I was looking at a map near Cirque of the Towers and saw two ways to get to Lonesome Lake. One was the main trail, and the other was a sketchy looking ridge line. I went for the ridge, which added about 400 feet of climbing. It was a bit scary with a full pack, but the view down into the cirque was insane. Anyone know other high route options in that area that are worth the extra effort?

What's the name of that ridge route? I took the high line over Texas Pass once (which was a real "why is my pack so heavy" moment for me), and the scramble up to the shoulder of Warbonnet Peak is another good one if you don't mind a little exposure.

Man, @taylor305, don't even get me started on Texas Pass. That whole approach feels like it just goes up forever, right? I had the exact same thought about my pack weight, just staring at the scree. And you're right about that Warbonnet scramble, the exposure hits you all at once on that one section. Solid routes but they make you earn every step.
