Sprained my wrist setting up camp on the Wonderland Trail and it ruined my whole trip

My buddy did something similar on the John Muir Trail. He tore a ligament in his ankle the first night trying to hop across some creek rocks. Spent the whole week just hobbling between campsites instead of hiking the passes, it was a total bust lol.

Ouch! Spraining your wrist just setting up camp? That's brutal. @claireg89 said her buddy tore something on the JMT too, which is wild. How does a simple task go that wrong so fast? Setting up camp should be the easy part. Really makes you second guess every move out there. Such a bummer when one slip ruins everything you planned for.
