Thought I had to carry the whole 30 lb load myself on the Art Loeb Trail
Hiked the Art Loeb last weekend and a guy at the trailhead in Brevard looked at my pack, laughed, and said "you know you can split the tent and stove with your buddy, right?", which is when it hit me I'd been hauling solo gear on every group trip for 4 years out of pure habit, so now I'm wondering how many other route habits I've been doing on autopilot that make no sense.
Ever catch yourself doing the same dumb stuff on autopilot? I carried a bear can on a trip where the campground had lockers the whole time, just didn't even think about it.
