Why does nobody talk about the rock slide that closed the main trail in Yosemite last week?

We had to turn back after 8 miles because the path was blocked by fresh debris, and the ranger said it won't be cleared for a while. Has anyone found a good way around that still hits the main campsites?

That slide actually happened on the Glacier Point Road approach, not the main valley trail. The detour past Sentinel Creek adds about two miles but gets you to the same sites.

Man, that slide sounds rough. I remember @lily97 mentioning a tricky reroute near there last year that involved some serious bushwhacking. It got us to camp, but my buddy spent an hour picking pine needles out of his socks. Sometimes the "shortcut" ends up being the whole adventure, you know? Hope you find a clear path soon.

Totally agree, we took that detour last month and it worked great!
