My buddy told me to quit whining about the science in Armageddon and just enjoy the ride. He was right, and I hate it.
Back in high school my friend Dave kept telling me to stop pausing movies to point out every wrong thing. I ignored him for years and ruined a lot of good nights. Then I watched The Core at his place in 2019 and he just sat there grinning while I wrote four pages of notes on why you can't drill to the center of the earth with a laser. By the end we were both laughing at how dumb it was and having way more fun than if I had been right. So where do you all land, does knowing the science make it worse or does the wrongness make it a comedy?
