A bakery in Chicago had a flour recall scare last month
They had to pull every single item made with that batch... it was a huge mess. Now I check my supplier's recall alerts every Monday morning before I even start mixing. How do you guys keep track of stuff like that?

Holy crap they had to pull EVERYTHING? That's insane. I figured maybe just the breads or something. But every single item from that batch? Man, the dumpster must have been overflowing. That's a total nightmare.

Honestly, my system is a sticky note on my monitor that says "CHECK FOR RECALLS" in all caps. I see it, I ignore it, and then I panic at 2 AM remembering I didn't check it. I finally set up email alerts after I almost used some recalled vanilla. My own laziness is my biggest supplier issue.

Checking your supplier's alerts every Monday is smart. Do you get those alerts emailed to you, or do you have to go hunt for them on their website?
