Finally managed to nail sourdough boules after 4 failed batches in a row

I was at a farmer's market in Austin last Saturday and a guy selling bread told me to let my starter ferment longer, did that next bake and got the best oven spring I've ever had, anyone else have one random tip from a stranger click like that?

That random stranger is probably the reason I didn't swear off baking forever. The guy at the market must be some kind of sourdough whisperer, huh? Next thing you know we'll be taking bread advice from the guy selling tomatoes.

Take that tomato guy seriously though, he knows his stuff.
