Heads up about the new 'fast rise' yeast from that big brand versus the old standby

I had to choose between sticking with my usual active dry yeast or trying that new 'fast rise' stuff for a 50-loaf wedding order last Saturday, and picking the fast one gave me a weird, almost sour taste that I'm still getting complaints about, so has anyone found a good fix for this or should I just go back to the old kind?

Man, I was all for trying new things. That fast rise yeast totally changed my mind after a batch of weird-tasting rolls. Just go back to the old stuff, it's not worth the risk.

Ever think your weird rolls were from something else, like water temp? Fast yeast just needs a tighter schedule. Writing off all new stuff over one batch seems like a missed chance.

Guess you found the one yeast that makes bread taste like regret.

My last batch with that stuff had the same bitter aftertaste. What brand did you use?
