Heads up on a common mistake with butter temperature in cookie recipes
I keep seeing recipes that just say 'softened butter' without any specifics. If your butter is too warm, your cookies will spread into flat puddles. I tested this with my chocolate chip recipe and the batch with butter straight from the counter on a hot day was a total mess. How do you guys reliably get it to the right temp?
