The only fix I know is turning it off and on again. My tech skills peaked with the VCR.

My buddy had the same issue with his device last month. He tried everything from clearing the cache to factory resetting it twice. The fix that actually worked was unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in. Something about the handshake between the devices getting stuck. After that it booted up normal like nothing happened. Sometimes the simple solutions are the ones you overlook.
