My stand mixer died mid-batch of cookie dough yesterday

Was right in the middle of a double batch for a church bake sale and the motor just gave out. Has anyone else had luck fixing one of these or is it cheaper to just buy a new one?

Oh man, that's rough. I once had my mixer die on me while I was making a triple batch of Christmas cookies and I just stood there staring at it like it had personally betrayed me. In my experience, it really depends on what kind of mixer you have and how much you use it. If it's a basic model and you've had it for a few years, buying a new one is probably the way to go. I've attempted to fix a couple of mixers myself and I ended up with more screws on my kitchen floor than I started with, so your mileage may vary. Just don't throw it against the wall, I almost did that and my wife still brings it up.

Betrayed by an appliance. That mixer had it coming though.
