That expensive bag of 'artisan' bread flour was a complete letdown
I paid $15 for a 5-pound bag of imported bread flour from a fancy online store last month, thinking it would make my loaves amazing. Instead, it acted just like the regular $4 flour from the grocery store and my bread came out exactly the same. Has anyone else tried those premium flours and found they're not worth the extra cost?

Read somewhere that fancy flour is often just the same stuff with nicer packaging.

Honestly @pat_park, even my fancy flour still makes lumpy pancakes.

That "fancy flour is just the same stuff" line hits close to home... I bought some expensive "artisan" pancake mix last month cause it had a cool logo on the bag. Tasted exactly like the store brand I usually grab, maybe even a little worse. Reminded me of when I tried making pancakes from scratch with my grandma's old recipe. She swore by using buttermilk from the farmer's market, but honestly, regular milk works fine. Sometimes you just gotta accept lumpy pancakes are part of the deal, no matter what you spend.
