Hit 50 failed macarons before my first decent batch and I'm weirdly proud
Everyone says you should get it right by the 10th try, but my 50th attempt last Thursday finally gave me feet that didn't crack. I think failing that many times made me actually understand the meringue. Anyone else have a number that felt like a weird victory?

Yeah, that weird pride is the whole point, right? It's like the failures stop being mistakes and become real lessons you had to learn the hard way. Getting it on the tenth try would have just been following steps, but fifty means you fought for it and actually get it now. That's a different kind of win that sticks with you.
