My mom told me my pie crust was too tough and I was shocked

I've been making pie crust the same way for like 5 years, always thought it was fine. Then last Thanksgiving my mom just said straight up that it was chewy and not flaky. Turns out I was overworking the dough by mixing it for too long in the food processor. Now I pulse it just until it comes together, maybe 8 to 10 seconds max, and then chill it for at least an hour. The difference is huge, I actually got compliments on my last apple pie. Anyone else have a family member drop a harsh truth about your baking?

Figured out my grandma's secret to flaky crust was just her being too lazy to clean the food processor so she barely mixed it. Now I'm purposely lazy and my pies are better. Maybe your mom just saved you from yourself.

idk man maybe it's just me but is a tougher crust really the end of the world? some people even like a sturdier pie.
