Spent 4 hours trying to fix a cracked macaron shell batch before realizing my oven was 25 degrees off
I kept getting lopsided feet and hollow shells until I finally checked with a separate thermometer, has anyone else dealt with an oven lying to them like that?

You ever try calibrating the dial on your oven? I had the same issue with mine being 30 degrees off, so I just started using an oven thermometer every time. Fixed my shells pretty fast after that.

Grabbed an oven thermometer off Amazon for like 8 bucks after I kept getting burnt edges on my pizza crust lol. Turns out my dial was off by a solid 40 degrees, no wonder nothing was coming out right. Now I just set it to whatever the thermometer reads and my baked goods actually look like they should. Saved me from throwing out another batch of cookies that looked like charcoal briquettes.
