Warning: that cheap silicone bread pan was a total dud
I bought this $8 silicone loaf pan off Amazon back in March because I figured it would be nonstick and easy to clean. First time I used it, the bread came out fine but the pan smelled weird like burnt plastic. Second time, the whole thing collapsed in the oven and my dough spilled all over the rack. I lost about 3 hours of rise time and $5 worth of ingredients. Has anyone else had this problem with those budget silicone pans?

I mean, that burnt plastic smell on the first use should've been a red flag right there. Did you happen to check the temperature rating before you threw it in the oven, or did you just assume it could handle it?
