Wasted $40 on a fancy brioche pan that gave me nothing

I bought a nonstick brioche pan from a kitchen store downtown last month because I kept seeing those tall, pretty loaves online. The pan was 11 inches and cost me $40, which felt like a lot but I figured it would be my new favorite thing. First try, the dough stuck to the sides even though I buttered it well, and the loaf came out lopsided. Second try, I used a different recipe and it still sank in the middle, plus the nonstick coating started scratching after I washed it with a soft sponge. Turns out my old regular loaf pan with some parchment paper works way better and gives me the same shape for free. I ended up donating the brioche pan to a thrift store last week. Has anyone else bought a specialty pan that just wasn't worth the cash?

Wait until you try a madeleine pan, I regret that one worse.
