A retired teacher in Akron told me the word "said" got cut from her classroom word wall in 2019 and I'm still mad about it
She said kids were told to use "stronger" verbs instead, so now I want to know if anyone else has seen a school ban a perfectly normal word just to look rigorous.

Heard a principal in Texas banned "good" from essays for the same reason.
