A 15-minute talk with a retired teller changed how I see fraud alerts

Last Saturday I was helping my mom clear out her garage and her old bank teller from 30 years ago stopped by to say hello. We got to talking about the fraud alerts we all get on our phones and she mentioned that younger customers ignore them because the messages sound robotic and generic. She told me she always calls people directly when something looks off, even if it takes an extra 10 minutes. That conversation made me realize I've been treating alerts as noise instead of a heads-up from a real human who noticed something weird. Has anyone else tried calling their bank's fraud line instead of just replying 'no' to the text message?
