I finally gave up on my old checkbook register after a coffee shop fiasco
For over a decade, I kept a paper ledger in my wallet to track every check and debit. Last Tuesday at The Daily Grind, I tried to buy a $4.75 latte and my card got declined because my handwritten math was off by $83. I switched to my bank's app that afternoon. Now it updates instantly, and I haven't had a surprise decline in three weeks. Does anyone else still use a physical register, or did you all move on years ago?

Paper still works fine for me.

Honestly same, @taylor.jesse. I tried going all digital with my grocery lists and it was a mess. My phone would die or the app would crash right in the store. Went back to a notepad on the fridge and it just works every single time, no batteries needed.

Just works every time" feels a bit dramatic for a grocery list... it's a scrap of paper, not a life support system. My phone has died in the store too, but I just remember the last two things or borrow a pen. The world keeps turning. We act like these tiny paper vs digital choices are some huge life debate, but honestly both are fine.
