My card reader died mid-transaction at a farmers market last Sunday

I was set up at the Portland farmers market around 10am and my Square reader just flashed red and stopped working. Lost out on about $180 in sales while I scrambled to download a mobile payment app on my phone. Anyone else have a backup plan for when your main payment device fails out of nowhere?

Call me crazy but losing $180 at a farmers market isnt exactly a crisis. I mean yeah it sucks but you probably made that back in your next hour or two of sales, right? I keep a spare battery pack and my phone has all the payment apps already installed so its a 30 second fix if my main reader dies. Maybe im too relaxed about it but stuff breaks, you adjust, and move on. Seems like you overreacted a little honestly.

Right? I had a square reader die on me mid market once and just switched to Venmo like it was nothing.
