That cash-only diner in Pittsburgh broke my tap-to-pay habit

I was at this old diner near the Strip District last fall, and when I went to pay with my phone, the waitress just shook her head. She said 'honey, we only take paper here since 1952.' I had to walk three blocks to an ATM that charged me $4.50 just to get cash. That little moment made me realize how much I rely on digital payments, but also how some places just won't budge. Has anyone else run into a spot that forced you to carry cash again?

Used to think tap to pay was the only way to go, but that diner changed my mind. Now I keep a twenty in my wallet for those stubborn holdouts. It's annoying but I get it, some places just don't want to deal with the fees.

And honestly I used to roll my eyes at people who still carried cash, but after getting stuck without it at a little pie shop that same kind of thing happened to me. Now I always have at least $20 folded up in my wallet just in case.
