Whose idea was it to let me deposit a $5,000 check via mobile app?

I used to drive 20 minutes to the bank branch every payday to deposit my check, even waiting in line for 15 minutes sometimes... then last month I tried mobile deposit on a whim and it cleared in under an hour. Has anyone else had a mobile deposit bounce or get held up for days after switching from in-person deposits?

Wait till you see how everything's slowly moving to self-serve and apps, next thing you know they'll have us fixing our own leaks.

My bank held my first mobile deposit for 3 days last year, a $1200 check from my side job. It was annoying but it cleared eventually. I hear people complain about this but honestly it's not that big of a deal unless you're living paycheck to paycheck. If you are, that's a separate problem. The app deposits have worked fine for me since then, even with checks over $2000. I'd rather do it from my couch than drive 20 minutes each way.
