A librarian in Tulsa showed me how to spot which books get pulled from other countries, and now I check every one
Last year I just read whatever was on the shelf and never thought about it. Now I use the World Library Map site that lists titles blocked in places like China and Saudi Arabia, and I cross check my local library catalog against it. I started doing this after a librarian in Tulsa told me her branch had to pull 12 books in 2019 because of a single complaint, and I wanted to see what else was missing. Does anyone else keep a personal list of titles that got cut in other countries, and if so what tool do you use to find them?

Who knew a librarian in Tulsa would send you down this rabbit hole? I started doing the same thing after I noticed my old library had a whole shelf of books that vanished without any sign, and it turned out a few of them were banned in other countries too. I just keep a running list in my notes app and check PEN America's banned book database when I want to see what's being pulled where.
