Found an old book from my grandpa's attic that was banned in his home country.
It was a simple poetry book from the 60s, banned for 'subversive ideas' which just meant talking about love and missing home. Reading it made me see how a whole piece of his past was just... erased for people back there. Does anyone know a good place to find more stories like this, about normal stuff that got banned?

My town tried to ban a cookbook from the library last year because it had a recipe for "protest soup." It's always the normal stuff that scares them the most.

My hometown library pulled a kids book about a worm because the cover showed it eating a plastic bag. They said it was "promoting littering." The protest soup thing reminds me of that... like, a soup recipe is a call to action now? Next they'll come for my grandma's chili because it's too "incendiary.
