Just realized Sweden banned political ads on TV in 2018 and it actually made things calmer there

I was reading about this yesterday and it got me thinking. Over in Sweden they decided TV ads from political parties were doing more harm than good so they just banned them outright. It took me like 3 hours to find solid reports on how it affected their election turnout because most English sources just skip over it. Has anyone from Sweden seen a real difference in how people talk about politics since the ban?

Omg my buddy from Malmo told me her dad actually started talking about local issues instead of just shouting at the TV during election season, lol. She said it was weird at first but now people just argue in person more which is kinda refreshing.

Huh, honestly I used to think people getting loud about local stuff was just pointless noise, but hearing this actually makes me see it differently. Do you think more places could end up like that?
