Stumbled on a list of banned YouTube videos from Turkey last night

I was just scrolling through some random subreddit around 2 AM and found a whole spreadsheet of over 400 videos that got blocked in Turkey since 2022. Half of them were just normal political satire or news clips about local elections. How are people supposed to know what's really going on when the government decides which videos are 'too dangerous' to watch?

Went down a similar rabbit hole once and now I'm paranoid my smart fridge is reporting my viewing habits to someone.

reporting my viewing habits" - yeah that's the part that gets me too. These smart devices are listening way more than people want to admit. I unplugged my smart fridge after reading about the microphones in them (and honestly it's not like I need it to tell me to buy milk). The whole "smart home" thing feels like a trap sometimes. Better to just keep things dumb and not have to worry about who's listening.
