My library's 'safe' display versus the actual banned books table
The 'safe' one had maybe 5 tame titles, but the real table had a whole stack of '1984' with notes on why it's been challenged. I grabbed one and the librarian gave me a thumbs up. What's the most surprising banned book you've found out in the open?

Honestly, seeing "The Diary of Anne Frank" on a challenged list stopped me cold. It's a historical account, and that makes the pushback so much more confusing. Just proves how weird these bans can get.

Got a small correction. 1984 isn't technically banned, just challenged a lot. Still wild to see it on that table though. Found a copy of Captain Underpants out once, which is just funny.
