PSA: My kid brought home a banned book list from her 8th grade class in Ohio and one title on it made me laugh out loud
The list had The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian on it, which got pulled from a district in Missouri back in 2010 for language and "sexual content," and my daughter asked me why a school would do that to a book about a kid just trying to fit in. I'm not against age rules, but a parent complaint from one person in a whole district deciding for everyone feels off. Has anyone here actually seen a challenge hearing happen in person, and did it go the way you expected?
