Seeing the empty shelves at my kid's library made me rethink book challenges
I always thought parents had a right to choose, but hearing how few books are left changed my view. Now I see bans limit what all kids can learn.

My middle school library pulled half the graphic novel section last year. Seeing those empty shelves really showed me how a few complaints can shape what whole classrooms get to read.

Our district banned Maus and now the reluctant readers have nothing.

Got to protect kids from some content. Maybe those books just weren't right for the school library.
