That moment I realized Fahrenheit 451 was about something bigger

I always thought it was just a book about firemen burning stuff, but then last year my town banned a graphic novel from the school library. Hit me like a ton of bricks what Bradbury was really saying.

A graphic novel? That's absurd, Bradbury would have been furious.

I actually watched an interview where a Bradbury scholar talked about how he adapted his own work into different formats, so I'm not sure he'd be that furious. He was a guy who loved new ways of telling stories, even if he grumbled about technology sometimes. Maybe a graphic novel isn't what he'd choose, but it's not like someone's burning his books.
