That time the library told me they pulled Huck Finn from the shelves

I was at the county library last week grabbing cookbooks and overheard the head librarian saying they finally pulled Huckleberry Finn from the kids section after a complaint. She said the N-word usage made it too hard to teach without context, which got me thinking about how much the world has changed since I read it in 7th grade English. Has anyone else seen classic books get moved or banned in their local libraries recently?

Maybe it's just me but is this really that big of a deal? Libraries move books around all the time. They probably had like three complaints total and just decided it was easier to shift it to the adult section than deal with the hassle. I mean my local library just rearranged the whole cooking section last month and nobody wrote a thinkpiece about it. If anything the book is still there just not right next to the picture books. Kids who actually want to read it can still ask for it or a parent can grab it. Seems like a lot of fuss over a book that most 7th graders already complain is boring anyway.

@king.kevin wait, you said kids find it boring anyway and that's supposed to make it better? So we're just okay with moving books based on how exciting they are now?
