The librarian in Tulsa who slipped me a copy under the counter

Back in 2019 I was 14 and our school banned 'The Hate U Give' after one parent complained. I went to the public library and Miss Delia, this older librarian, just slid it across the desk in a paper bag without saying a word. She whispered 'read it fast' and tapped her nose. Has anyone else had a librarian or teacher quietly go against a ban like that? I still think about her.
