Changed my mind about being banned from a local Facebook group after a conversation with the admin
I got banned from the Oakdale community Facebook group six months ago for saying the downtown parking problem was because of too many new apartments. I thought the admin was just silencing anyone who disagreed with her. Then I ran into her at the grocery store last week and she explained she gets 40 reports a day on those posts and it was easier to ban me than moderate the chaos. She showed me her phone with 12 nasty messages from other members that I never saw. Now I run a small email list for neighbors who want to discuss local issues without the trolls. Has anyone else had a ban turn into a better way to communicate?
