Dropped $90 on a used OtterBox from a yard sale and it saved my phone twice already

I bought this beat-up OtterBox off some lady's driveway last summer for $90 and thought I overpaid until I dropped my phone off a ladder cleaning gutters last week and it survived. Has anyone else found random gear secondhand that ended up being way better than buying new?

So did the $90 come with a lifetime warranty or did you just buy the same one twice? @taylor305 sounds like they're just jealous their case didn't come with a ladder test story.
