Got a 30 day ban from a local group for calling out a shady contractor by name
I posted a photo of a botched panel install in a neighborhood Facebook group, named the guy's company, and got banned for 'targeted harassment' the next morning. I changed my approach and now I just post the photos with the address blurred and ask 'What's wrong with this picture?' without naming names. How do you warn people without getting the boot?

It's the same reason you can't leave a bad review without getting sued now.

Ever been scared to post an honest review? I just stuck to the facts when I had a problem, and that kept things simple. You're right, @taylor82, it feels like you need a lawyer just to say a service was bad.

That's exactly where we're heading, just feels like one more inch of freedom taken away every day. Between non-disclosure agreements for everything now and making sure you don't accidentally criticize someone's product, it's like the whole system is designed to shut regular people up. Even something as simple as a one star review on a recipe blog can get you a nastygram from a lawyer these days. It all ties into this bigger thing where companies want total control over their image, and they're using the legal system to bully folks into silence. Makes you wonder what happens when nobody feels safe telling the truth about anything anymore.
